1 lb. chicken breasts (sliced in thin strips)
1/2 onion (finely chopped)
2 tsp shawarma spice mix
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp. olive oil (season mixture)
3 tbsp. olive oil (stir fry)
First, in a bowl mix 1 tbsp. olive oil with 2 tbsp. shawarma spice mix. Cut the chicken breasts into thin slices then add them to the seasoning mixture; make sure to coat the chicken slices thoroughly.
In a frying pan, heat up 3 tbsp. of olive oil and then add the chopped onion; sauté for on medium-high heat for about 10 minutes; add the meat, and season with salt and pepper; stir-fry all for about 15 minutes, until the meat turns a golden brown and is well coated with the spice. Serve on flat-bread with hummus and a fresh vegetable salad.
*shawarma spice mix contains: turmeric, coriander, cumin, roasted garlic, cardamom, Allspice, white pepper and sea salt.
