Chai
Ingredients: Cinnamon, Ginger, Black Tea, Green Cardamom, Nutmeg, Cloves.
Description: Chai tea is often characterized as a rich, spicy tea that blends the exotic spices of the East with milk or cream and a sweetener. Chai is prepared slowly, in order to harvest the rich aromatic properties from the chai spices. Although chai has been consumed for centuries throughout Asia and Africa, variations of the tea exist from one region to the next.
Chai Tea Recipe
(2 small cups)
1 cup water
1 tsp. loose-leaf black tea
1 1/2 cups whole milk
2 Tbsp. Whole Spice Chai
1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
In a saucepan, combine the water and the black tea and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
Add Chai Spice mix, milk, and sugar.
Bring to a boil again, then reduce the heat and cover.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Strain the tea into the cup and discard the spices or loose tea. Serve immediately.
