This aromatic black tea with natural spices has been a favorite in India for hundreds of years. The spices in this delicious blend are said to offer many health benefits: antioxidants (may prevent heart disease, strokes and cancer), cloves (good during cold/flu season), ginger (heals digestive and respiratory systems and relieves body aches), cardamon (stimulates the mind) and finally some well known, tasty ingredients- cinnamon and nutmeg.
This recipe will make about 2 small cups
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon Assam Black Tea Loose leaf
1 ½ cup Whole Milk
2 Tablespoon Chai Spice blend
1 ½ Tablespoon Sugar
In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, black tea and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes, than add Chai spice mix, milk and sugar. Bring to boil again than reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Strain the tea into cup, discard spices or loose tea. Serve immediately.
